Welcome to the
Winchester Recreation Department

June 24, 2020
Dear Winchester Recreation Families,

We hope this email finds you well and looking forward to the summer season. We are happy to inform you that we will be offering modified versions of our Junior Summer Adventures Program previously known as Half Day Summer Adventures (Ages 3.5 as of June 1st thru Kindergarten) as well as our former Full Day Summer Adventure (Grades 1st – 6th with shortened hours- 4hrs.) In accordance with new guidelines brought forward by the State, CDC and Board of Health we have made a number of adjustments to stay in line with these guidelines and hope we will be able to accommodate some of your needs this summer. Below you will find our new schedule for both programs including the hours, rates, and weekly themes. These programs will be held at the Winchester Recreation Department, located at 263 Main Street which will allow us to maintain a much more controlled environment. Our goal will continue to be the safety of your children, family and our own staff and we will be taking several precautions to provide a safe and nurturing environment this summer.

Due to restrictions, each program is limited to 30 children per week. Each group of10 children will have 2 counselors assigned to them ensuring a 5:1 participant/staff ratio. The 30 enrolled will be broken down into 3 “Pods” for each program based on the child’s age for Junior Adventures and grade for Summer Adventures. These groups travel together throughout the day with their designated counselors. Groups will not co-mingle between one another throughout the programming day. You will find more details on our two offerings below.

IMPORTANT: Registration will OPEN to the public on Monday, June 29th at 10AM. We ask that you take the following steps prior to Monday if you are interested in signing up your child/ren. Please log into your account at www.winrec.com between now and Friday and attempt to log in, make sure you have your correct username and password. If you have issues logging in, with a username or forgotten password you should notify the office and we can set you up with a new temporary password. If you have not logged into your account you may be asked to reset your password, this will require that you know your previous password. Staff is typically in the office from 9AM to 5PM Monday through Friday. If you have any issues logging in prior to Monday, please call 781.721.7125 and speak with the office staff.
