School is out for April break, so what do you have planned for your kids?  Join the Winchester Recreation Department for four days (T, W, TH, F) of supervised fun and games, arts and crafts, and special projects.  We have different themes for each day that will be sure to keep the kids busy! This fun filled program is open to children currently in grades K - 5.  Student to teacher ratio is 13 to 1.  Space is limited, please register early!  Participants are responsible for bringing a lunch, drink and snacks daily.  Participants must sign up for 4 days - we cannon pro-rate days as this programs staffing budget is based off of full 4 day participant enrollments.

Call to Register 781.721.7125Since 1995, the Recreation Department has provided and continues to offer quality After School Programming for the Town of Winchester. Our After School Programs are licensed by The Department of Early Education and Care, for children entering Grade K–5. Programs are offered at the Recreation Dept., 263 Main St. and at Lynch Elementary School (Lynch Students only). New Structure! Hybrid Model• Programs are scheduled to begin Thursday, September 17.• Programs mirror the Schools Hybrid Schedule: After School Care is available Monday/Tues day or Thursday/Friday (OFF Wednesdays) from 2:20PM to 6:00PM. • Students may only sign up for the days in which they are attending in person school. • Classes will run in cohorts with other students in the same grade or similar grade level with a maximum total of 12 students in each cohort. • The Lynch program will have 3 total cohorts, a K/1, 2/3, and 4/5 group. • The Winchester Recreation Program will have a total of 6 cohorts, one each for grades K - 5. • Staffing for each cohort is based on the number of children enrolled. Our programs offer structured activities, including time for physical activities, games, arts & crafts and quiet time for homework/studies. And outdoor play. Hand washing will be required throughout each day. A full parent handbook and covid policy is available on our website. Winchester Recreation After School is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care and follows the Winchester Public School calendar. Coverage will be provided on early release days as those costs have been built into the monthly fee. When the school is closed for holidays, vacations, professional development days, or snow days the After School Program will be closed. REGISTRATION PROCESSEnroll online at www.winrec.com or by calling 781-721-7125. To enroll, a family will select the two days in which they are assigned to for the entire school year. You cannot register for the two days in which your child is not attending school. Once enrolled, parents must complete additional required enrollment forms before your child can attend. Forms can be downloaded at https://www.winchester.us/635/Recreation-Department Students who registered prior to the shutdown due to the pandemic had first right of refusal to returning for the 2020/2021 School year. Space is extremely limited, please register to reserve your spot! The Winchester Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel any program due to low enrollment. WILL THERE BE TRANSPORTATION?Winchester Recreation does not provide transportation to the afterschool programs, busses have been made available by the Winchester School Department and are being assessed for this year. If busses are available, parents are responsible for purchasing their own bus passes through the Winchester School Dept. for an additional fee. FEES AND DUE DATESThere is a one-time $25 enrollment fee along with monthly payments. Monthly payments are paid in advance and are automatically deducted the first of each month. We accept credit card payment only. The first payment is due at the time of registration and will be applied towards September. Subsequent monthly payments will begin October 1st for the remaining nine months. If you withdraw from the program during the school year, you will forfeit one month advanced payment unless a replacement is found prior the 1st of that month. When registering, you are committing the entire year. Please note - monthly payments are based upon number of days/half days in which your child will be attending each month. Students will also develop and expand personal imagery and technical skills and strengthen observational skills while exploring color. Six 1 hour 15 minute sessions. Martial Arts training will help develop greater social skills and nurture mental and emotional growth. Program emphasizes the 5 Principles of Kenpo: Effort, Etiquette, Character, Sincerity and Self-Control. Join us for this exciting sport, one of the fastest growing in the world. People of all ages are fascinated by the movements and excitement of fencing and are eager to find a place that they can go and learn this original, modern sport. Fencing develops physical fitness, the ability to create a strategy, concentration, as well as camaraderie and respectAbout the Instructor: Michael Tarascio was a member of the United States World Championship Team in Men’s Foil. Michael is a Level 4 Foil coach certified through the United States Fencing Association. Also, certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance and the American Sports Education Program. Our After School Programs are licensed by The Department of Early Education and Care, for children entering Grade K–5. Programs are offered at the Recreation Dept., 263 Main St. and at Lynch Elementary School (Lynch Students only). New Structure! Hybrid Model• Programs are scheduled to begin Thursday, September 17.• Programs mirror the Schools Hybrid Schedule: After School Care is available Monday/Tues day or Thursday/Friday (OFF Wednesdays) from 2:20PM to 6:00PM. • Students may only sign up for the days in which they are attending in person school. • Classes will run in cohorts with other students in the same grade or similar grade level with a maximum total of 12 students in each cohort. • The Lynch program will have 3 total cohorts, a K/1, 2/3, and 4/5 group. • The Winchester Recreation Program will have a total of 6 cohorts, one each for grades K - 5. • Staffing for each cohort is based on the number of children enrolled. Our programs offer structured activities, including time for physical activities, games, arts & crafts and quiet time for homework/studies. And outdoor play. Hand washing will be required throughout each day. A full parent handbook and covid policy is available on our website. Winchester Recreation After School is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care and follows the Winchester Public School calendar. Coverage will be provided on early release days as those costs have been built into the monthly fee. When the school is closed for holidays, vacations, professional development days, or snow days the After School Program will be closed. REGISTRATION PROCESSEnroll online at www.winrec.com or by calling 781-721-7125. To enroll, a family will select the two days in which they are assigned to for the entire school year. You cannot register for the two days in which your child is not attending school. Once enrolled, parents must complete additional required enrollment forms before your child can attend. Forms can be downloaded at https://www.winchester.us/635/Recreation-Department Students who registered prior to the shutdown due to the pandemic had first right of refusal to returning for the 2020/2021 School year. Space is extremely limited, please register to reserve your spot! The Winchester Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel any program due to low enrollment. WILL THERE BE TRANSPORTATION?Winchester Recreation does not provide transportation to the afterschool programs, busses have been made available by the Winchester School Department and are being assessed for this year. If busses are available, parents are responsible for purchasing their own bus passes through the Winchester School Dept. for an additional fee. FEES AND DUE DATESThere is a one-time $25 enrollment fee along with monthly payments. Monthly payments are paid in advance and are automatically deducted the first of each month. We accept credit card payment only. The first payment is due at the time of registration and will be applied towards September. Subsequent monthly payments will begin October 1st for the remaining nine months. If you withdraw from the program during the school year, you will forfeit one month advanced payment unless a replacement is found prior the 1st of that month.
